As the last rays of what has been a very long, hot Summer dissipate and we move into the cooler months we have seen a flurry of bookings for the Autumn season. Planning a cabin stay for the cosiest time of year is the perfect way to settle into the slower Autumn and Winter months, our weekends are booking up quickly through the rest of the year, but we still have some availability (and lower prices!) on midweek stays. Our guests are making the most of the fantastic dining options and creative supper clubs at the on site restaurant Castle Farm, Midford to combine a relaxing break with great foodie experiences. If you’d like to indulge you can find the current and upcoming supper clubs below and bookings are always open for the famous Asian cuisine and Sunday Roasts!

This, and a rainy afternoon…It feels like the most pleasurable of pursuits we only entertain at certain times of the year. But isn’t the thought of brewing a pot of tea, warming something delicious in the oven, lighting candles and setting up the Scrabble board on a darkening October afternoon the most delicious thought. You’ll find Scrabble, Uno and a deck of Bicycle playing cards in each cabin, and plenty of tea and blankets, not a bad way to while away an Autumn afternoon!

What’s On | Bath in Autumn
Autumn is a great time to visit Bath, the surrounding countryside is really putting on a show and in the city there is a jam packed calendar of cultural and arts events to enjoy. Although Bath tends to always be busy, attracting tourists from around the world, there can be a gentle lull at this time of year, particularly before the excitement of Christmas, that makes for an ever so slightly calmer visit! We’ve included a few recommendations for you to plan your stay around…
There’s no shortage of fantastic author events at Bath’s brilliant bookshops, Mr B’s Emporium also has so much to choose from. But two particular Toppings events caught our attention. An evening with the inimitable Celia Imrie, any fans of The Traitors who cried with laughter over her farting will know that this is bound to be a fun evening. The iconic Joanne Harris will also be in attendance this Autumn, the prolific author who bought us Chocolat and many more, still a favourite writer on our own bookshelves.

A slow afternoon wandering through a gallery taking in the artwork is an afternoon well spent, and there’s plenty to choose from this Autumn. Enjoy the art, but we also recommend walking the full length of Great Pulteney Street to arrive at the Holburne feeling like a true Bridgerton, and climbing the winding staircase up in the Victoria Art Gallery to take in the inside of the dome, it is a thing of wondrous beauty!

Who doesn’t love a trip to the theatre? There’s such a lovely old fashioned energy to getting a little glammed up, having a glass of Champagne and watching a play, and the Theatre Royal Bath is a stunning place to step back in time. The legend that is Jennifer Saunders will be gracing the stage this Autumn, so double the reason to book tickets.

We do harp on about Westonbirt, but for good reason, it is a magical place! Wandering through the trees during Autumn coours season is not to be missed. This is a very popular time to visit the arboretum, so plan ahead!

Stay & Dine | Upcoming Supper Clubs
Plan a stay at the farm to coincide with the popular supper clubs on selected dates at Castle Farm, Midford this Autumn there are Seasonal Harvest and Halloween specials and a November homage to the late, great Dolly Parton inspiring a serious deep South comfort food menu, so the perfect opportunity to make the most of everything the farm has to offer. Guests can also enjoy Friday night dine in or cabin service from the Malaysian menu and opt for a late Sunday check out followed by Castle Farm’s famous Sunday roast for a truly indulgent foodie weekend without even leaving the farm!

IndulgeWe are always looking for ways to make stays at Midford Valley Cabins memorable and relaxing, so we’re very happy to be partnering with Ally Massage Therapy. Ally offers mobile massage and treatments in Bath which means she can bring everything to the cabin and you can indulge in total relaxation with zero effort. We don’t know about you, but we think this is what dreams are made of, throw in a sauna and a cabin service dinner and you’ll be living the dream!

Dog Friendly Cabin | Lyra
Due to popular demand, we are very happy to say that Lyra is now our dog friendly cabin, so you can bring your bestie along too. It only seemed fitting for a cabin inspired by His Dark Materials to allow guests to bring their own Daemons along (if you’ve never read Philip Pullman, that will make no sense!) This is Nera, she’s not allowed at the farm because she’s a bit naughty, doesn’t enjoy people and barks quite a lot…
Fireworks NightA November stay can coincide with an array or Bonfire night celebrations across the city. To name a few, Bath Racecourse and Bath Rotary Charity Fireworks Fiesta provide epic displays. A little further afield is Avon Valley for those who want a massive display. Closer to the farm, and not confirmed for 2026 yet, but keep an eye on Combe Down Rugby Club as they often put on a fantastic display which you can wrap up and take a 5 minute drive from the farm to enjoy, or wrap up and sit on the cabin balcony to watch!
